In February 2022, the Search Committee has resumed its work.  We have received approval from the Regional Board that funding is anticipated to hire and sustain a full-time Regional Minister.  To date we have completed: Anti-racism/Unconscious Bias training, additional training on the Regional Search procedures, developed an initial Search Committee budget and received Board approval, and initiated our Regional Engagement Strategy.  As part of our engagement strategy, we need your input, ideas, and continued prayers!  Our first task is to hear WHAT YOU THINK as we look to call our next Regional Minister.  To this end, we have established several listening sessions...

As our Director of Disciples Refugee & Immigration Ministries, and with partners from across our denomination and world, I join with you in deepest prayers that the fullness of God, who is All Love, might overwhelm Russia's onslaught of violence.  Though I am unable to join you in person tonight (due to leading a meeting at this time in a national Welcoming conference for refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers), my heart joins with you in affirming that scriptures call us to remember we "are no longer strangers and aliens, but...are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household...

The Bible is a complex book, and for people new to faith or going deeper, the stories of God and God's people become our guide to living with compassion and grace. The more we read the Bible, the more we see ourselves and our own story intersecting with God's story. Beginning September 12, our church has adopted the Narrative Lectionary, a series of readings of scripture that start in Genesis, carry through books of history and prophets, and finish with the Gospel of John.
